Design School Wayfinding

A project dedicated to improving the life of underclassman designers at ASU.

Who’s lost?

At any university, especially one as diverse as Arizona State, you would think that wayfinding would be more of abundant within the school facilities. As I entered my freshman year of college, I began searching ahead of time where my classes would be. I entered the Herberger Design South building and came to a slight problem… There was no directional wayfinding as to where the any studios were! This being one of the buildings where first year students would commonly be, it made it rather difficult deciphering which studio we had to be in unless you came up to the door itself to find out. As the years went on, it really bothered me seeing countless people asking for directions due to poor wayfinding. I decided to come up with a proposal to allow a simple, yet understandable wayfinding for those who might struggle with getting to where they need to be on time.
